Text: Exodus 3:14 (KJV 1900): And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I
AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM
hath sent me unto you.
When Moses asked God who should he say sent him to the Israelites,
God replied with Exodus 3:14;
I AM, – two of the most powerful words ever spoken which, when
used in the correct way are life-changing. This is the name that God
chose to be known as for that occasion, not I was, of I will be, I AM,
ever-present, and forever.
God made a declaration: I AM whatever I say, and whatever I choose
to be.
In Genesis 1:26 God said: “ Let us make man.” The “US” is Himself,
the Word, who was later identified as Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, the
Spirit of wisdom. Proverbs 8:22-31tells us that wisdom was present
at creation and so they made man in the image of God, and after
God’s likeness.

Let’s visit Exodus 20:7 (KJV 1900): Thou shalt not take the name of
the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that
taketh his name in vain.
Time would not permit me to unpack the numerous components of
the names of God and to delve into the origin of those given to Him
over the centuries. I will attempt to present “ I AM “ in the context of
the daily use of God’s name.
I am Dianne Nicome. I have made a verbal declaration of my identity
and I am who I say I am. In his gospel, Apostle John recorded 7
powerful “I AM “ statements declared by Jesus.
The “I AM” statements found in the Gospel of John are the bread of
life (6:35), the light of the world (8:12), the door (10:7), the good
shepherd (10:11, 14), the resurrection and the life (11:25), the way the
truth and the life (14:6) and the true vine (15:1).
It is critically important to understand the enormous responsibility of
using God’s name on a daily basis as whatever we attach to “I AM
“ will shape our destiny.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV 1900): 17 Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all
things are become new.
A new way of thinking, speaking, acting, living, believing. The old way
would have said, I am sick and tired of this situation, and guess
what? You would be sick and tired all the time. Or, I am fed up with
him or her, etc. not realizing that if you are fed up, that means you are
full to capacity and that is what will happen! Another famous line: I
am not able etc. which has resulted in being perfectly unable to
handle or deal with the issue because of our declaration, using God’s
great name to continually create chaos for oneself.
The new way of the new creation in Christ would be declaring :
I am the redeemed of the Lord. Whatever I confess according to the
word of God concerning my life, my family, healing, health, peace,
prosperity, safety or any of His blessings comes to pass. I am
successful in God my Heavenly Father because the wealth that the
wicked had holding up for me, God has caused it to be released and
to flow to me. People are right now looking for me to give into my
bosom all that has been ordained for me to have. Eyes have not seen
anything like this before, ears have not heard it before, and never
could it have been imagined in the human mind or conceived in the
human heart what God is about to do in my life because of His
unconditional love for me and my love in return to Him. (Ps.107:2;
John 14:13; Luke 19:17; Isaiah 53:5; Jer.29:11; Job 20:15-18; 1
Cor.2:9)
I am the righteousness of god in Christ Jesus and for this reason according
to Proverbs 28:1, I am as bold as a Lion. I am wise as a serpent yet I am
harmless as a dove. According to Luke 10:19, I have the power to tread
upon serpents and scorpions and I have power over all the enemy.
According to Joshua 1:5, no man shall be able to stand before me for the
rest of my days.
I am blessed according to Deut.28:1-14 and I cannot be cursed because
the high praises of God are in my mouth and a two-edged sword is in my
hand. I am blessed and highly favored. I am blessed in my coming in and
blessed in my going out. I am blessed in the city and blessed in the field. I
am above and not beneath. I am the head and not the tail and no matter
what I go through I will always be victorious. I am a born leader and I do not
follow others to do wrong. (2 Cor.5:21; Mat.10:16; Ps.149:6-9; Gen.2:16-17;
Ps.1:1; Mat.4:10; 1 John 5:21; John 15:16).
I am a forerunner and I am a trailblazer. I am strong even when I am at my
weakest point because it is not by my power nor by my might but by the
Spirit of the Lord who makes His strength perfect in me. I am an overcomer
as I overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony. I
am in Christ therefore old things are passed away and all things have
become new. The life that I now live is to please Christ only who shed His
blood and died for me. I am a man/woman of faith. I am justified by faith
and therefore I have the peace of God with me. I live by faith, I speak by
faith, I believe by faith, I see by faith and therefore I have an expectation to
receive what I have prayed for and confessed by faith. I walk by faith and
not by sight. (Mal.3:1; Mat.11:10; Ruth 2:2-3, 15-17; Zec.4:6; 2 Cor.12:9-10;
Rev.12:10-11; 2 Cor.5:17; 2 Cor.5:15; Luke 12:4-5; Rom.5:1; 2 Cor.5:7)
I am a chosen generation, I am a royal priesthood, I am a holy nation and a
peculiar people. I am called to show forth the praises of God. I am called
out of darkness into God’s marvellous light. I am a workman in the word of
God. I am His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works. I am
productive in very area of my life. I am a man/woman of purpose, passion,
and power and whatsoever my hands touch will prosper. I am daily loaded
with benefits. I increase daily in wisdom and understanding. I am a man/
woman of integrity and truth only comes from me. I am destined for
greatness because my heavenly father’s thoughts and plan is to prosper
me and to give me the expected outcome according to the measure of my
faith in Him. (1 Peter 2:9; Rom.8:33-34; Eph.2:10; Ps.1:1-4; Ps.68:19;
Prov.2:1-8; 1 John 2:21; Jer.29:11)
I am a king unto the most high King Jesus Christ and where the word of
God is there is liberty, power and authority. (Rev.1:6) I am a child of God
and He is for me. (Rom.8:16,31) And since God is for me, then no person,
devil, demonic spirit, force or principality can stand against me, nor can
they come against me and succeed. (Isaiah 54:17)
I am rooted, I am settled, and I am established in my faith in Christ. I now
choose to walk in authority and dominion as a king. I put on the helmet of
salvation knowing who I am in Christ and who He is in me. (Eph.6:17) As I
speak, decree and declare the word of God it cannot be stooped, hindered
or hampered by the enemy (Isaiah 55:11) because, I am in Christ and
Christ is in me. I now seal this I AM declaration by faith, the blood of Jesus,
and by the Spirit of God to whom be all the glory, honour, dominion and
power in Jesus name, amen.
LET US STOP TAKING THE NAME OF THE LORD IN VAIN!
