NEW WINE, FOR NEW WINESKINS
Jesus spoke a parable to the Scribes and Pharisees who questioned just about everything He did. ”No one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wine skins. Luke 5:37-38. ESV.
Luke 5: 39,  And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, ‘The old is good.’

JESUS SAID TO JOHN’S DISCIPLES, ”GO AND TELL JOHN WHAT YOU HAVE SEEN AND HEARD:  THE BLIND RECEIVE THEIR SIGHT, THE LAME WALK, LEPERS ARE CLEANSED, AND THE DEAF HEAR, THE DEAD ARE RAISED UP, THE POOR HAVE GOOD NEWS PREACHED TO THEM. AND BLESSED IS THE ONE WHO IS NOT OFFENDED IN ME.” Luke 7:22-23.

WORD FOR THE WEEK
PSALMS 91: 1-12

Happy is he whose resting-place is in the Lord, and under the shade of the wings of the most high;

Who says of the Lord, He is my safe place and my tower of strength: He is my God , in whom is my hope.

He will take you out of the bird-net, and keep you safe from wasting disease.

You will be covered by His feathers; under His wings you will be safe: His good faith will be your salvation.

You will have no fear of the evil things of the night, or of the arrow in flight by day,

Or of the disease which takes men in the dark, or of the destruction which makes waste when the sun is high.

You will see a thousand falling by your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.

Only with your eyes will you see the reward of the evil-doers.

Because you have said, I am in the hands of the Lord, the Most High is my safe resting-place;

No evil will come on you, and no disease will come near your tent.

For He will give you into the care of His angels to keep you wherever you go.

In their hands they will keep you up, so that your foot may not be crushed against a stone.

John 11:45

Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

Life’s experiences should build character, resilience, confidence, but most of all
faith. When faith is tried and tested because of life’s issues, it is important to
recognize what can be gained through experience to make better decisions,
choices etc going forward.
Moses is an excellent example of growth through experiences. He began as an
insecure man, asking his wife to lie to the Egyptian pharaoh about their
relationship ( Gen.12:10-13), to being named as one of the heroes of faith ( Heb.
11:1-40). Without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb.11:6), therefore, one’s
life journey should reflect growth because of every experience.
Hebrews chapter eleven is packed with references of faith through trials;

Youth Outreach Corner
As a minister and also a grandparent of teens and young adults, teaching our youth is a subject near and dear to my heart. It is my belief that we may not have tried as hard as we could to reach out to our young people. Let’s face it we have been stuck in tradition, refusing to relinquish the old ways, no pants, no makeup, no jewelry, no music but the hymns, etc. Consequently, we have dropped off our youth somewhere along the Christian way, and probably have forgotten where. As a minister, I’ve decided to go find as many as I can and bring them home to Jesus. I really want them to know how cool and simple Jesus is. He is not complicated, nor is His word. This month, let us attempt to find out just who JESUS is. His family — His mom was a young lady named Mary, His dad on earth, a guy named Joseph who was engaged to be married to Mary. Luke chapter 1:26-35 gives insight into Jesus’s parents and how they became involved in His earthly life. The prediction— The birth of Jesus was predicated many years ago by prophets . Matthew chapter 2:1-12, and Luke 2:8-20 has the story. Let’s focus on finding out who Jesus is, and why He came before we check out His mission. Remember, you are loved; you are young and have a wonderful life ahead of you. Let’s help you get there. Prayer; Dear God, Touch our youth with your love as they seek to get to know about you, in Jesus Name, Amen.
Tips for making your marriage work

Once upon a time I thought that I would meet prince charming, marry him, jump on his white horse and ride off into the land of happily ever after. I was so very wrong.
Over the years, and two marriages later, guess what? I have learned that It requires a commitment to hard work.
Work on loyalty, on communication, on developing the ability to forgive, and among all the other attributes that one can attach to a happy and successful marriage, the art of holding the tongue.
Here are some pointers gathered over time that will definitely enhance your relationship if they are followed prayerfully.
• It takes a lot of truth to gain trust, and only one lie to lose it all.
• A fool vents all her feelings, but a wise woman holds some in.
• A good day will be in ruins if one allows a bad yesterday to overshadow it.
• A true relationship is about two perfect people willing to learn about each other without quitting.
• When we forgive, we heal, when we let go, we grow.
• If you’ve been forgiven, that’s between the two of you, don’t allow others to continue to make you pay, it’s not their life.
• You value your relationship more than your ego when you apologize, even if you’re right.
• Don’t believe everything you think.
• Look for something to celebrate in each day, even the little things are blessings.
• Quit waiting on the perfect moment, wait on God, He will make the moment perfect.

The Authority of Believers part 1

Matt. 14:22-31, And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. 23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. 24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Doubt is defined as a moment of fear, a moment when a contrary spirit steps in and attempts to block and neutralize the work of faith in one’s life.
Jesus sent His disciples on ahead of Him to get to the other side of the Galilean sea. The miraculous feeding of 5000 +men women and also children had already been done reportedly, in Bethsaida, after which He departed up into a mountain area to pray. He stayed there until the evening and scriptures record that the ship was already in the midst of the sea.
God sometimes gives us instructions and sends us on, seemingly ahead of Him, only requiring that we not only trust Him but use the tools that we’ve been given to clear the path ahead of us to get to the desired destination.
And do, the ship was in the midst of the sea, tossed by huge waves because the wind was contrary. It was not acting right. I imagine that the disciples were worried about the boisterous weather. The sea of Galilee is strange, it can be calm one minute, then out of nowhere the wind can pick up and the sea suddenly turns from a peaceful lake effect to a raging sea. Isn’t this quite like our life experiences?
But, even though they did not see Jesus initially, He was on His way. I wish to remind us that Jesus is always on His way to our situations, why? Because He knows ahead of time.
It was the 4th watch on the night, and here comes Jesus, walking on the situation that had the disciples traumatized.
Note that He was actually walking on top of the situation. I’m reminded of something that He said to His disciples ” he that believes in me, shall do the works that I do and shall do even greater works. ” Let us be mindful of these words.
Fear gripped the disciples, they cried out for fear! Prompting an immediate reform Jesus, reassuring them,” It is I. Don’t be afraid!” Bear in mind that they were fresh from the miraculous multiplying of food to feed thousands.

I’m reminded of the prophet Elijah, fresh from calling fire down from heaven, and wiping out over 400 false prophets, yet, when Jezebel viewed to take his life, he went on the run! In our humanness, we quickly forget who we are, and who’s we are, leading me to realize that not only education is lacking, but the practice of the lessons learned. (1 Kings 18, 19:1-5 ). Peter, the bold one said to the Lord, if it is you, tell me to come to you on the water. Jesus simply said, ”come. ” How many times has God said to us, come, go, believe, heal, deliver, wait? Simple one-word commands, fully expecting us to trust and obey, incidentally, one of the old songs we sang regularly, with passionate expressions on our faces. We may have begun like Peter, but the strength of the storms scared and troubled us to the point where we lost sight of Jesus and, focusing on the wind and the waves, began to sink. He cried out again, this time a cry for help, ”Lord save me!” and immediately, Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, saying to him, your faith is little, why did you doubt? Obviously, they walked together to the ship. Jesus will take our hand and walk with us on troubled waters, walk with us through the fire, sit with us all night in the lion’s den. He only asks us to believe. Believe His word, believe His promises. It is imperative that the church remain focused on the authority given to us, if we lose focus and look at circumstances, we will sink and be pulled under. We must not become distracted, we must stay in the word and focus on our authority to heal, to speak peace be still to storms, knowing that we are the ones who change, the power given to us doesn’t change, neither has it been withdrawn.

Our Mission

It is a covenant of love. It is the fulfillment of the promise that God will forgive sin and restore fellowship with man by sending His only son to pay the legal price for sin. His son, Jesus, is the mediator of the New Covenant. He died on the cross to implement it, guaranteeing a change of heart to everyone who believes and receives the gift of salvation so that we can become reconciled to God.

It is imperative that believers and others interested know that the Holy Spirit was sent by Jesus to live in us and be with us forever. It must be known that He is our comforter, guide, teacher, intercessor, advocate, defender, leader, and is the only one who can give us revelation knowledge of God’s word and it’s intent.

It must be known that He reveals to us the truth of God’s word, and empowers man to be and do all that God requires. He gives the wisdom necessary to rightly divide the word of truth.

We strive to unmask the cloak of secrecy and misinterpretation imposed upon the message of Grace, letting it be known that the fruit of the Spirit is for every born-again believer. We’re also on a mission to implement a better covenant and change the lives of many.
